Wastematters is a campaign by a group of designers from Primary Workshop that aim to encourage business partners to collect their waste and make the foodwaste become valuable again.
Why we started
Wastematters is a design initiative that transforms food waste into valuable materials and products. We believe that food waste should not be the end of a lifecycle, but the beginning of a new one.
Our project aims to raise awareness about the issue of food waste while exploring creative ways to repurpose discarded resources. Through material experimentation, design, and craftsmanship, we develop sustainable materials that can be used in everyday products and construction applications.
Where our food waste comes from
The food waste used in our materials is collected from restaurants, cafés, hotels, and food businesses in Bangkok that partner with our project.
These materials are carefully sorted, cleaned, and processed before being transformed into composite materials that can be used for various design and construction products.
